Here are some more videos recently created by others to honor the memory of Jud. These are made by people who never even met him. Thank you Mary & Amy.
Twenty-Eight of Jud's Buds walked for a cure in Laguna Niguel on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. Jud's team raised close to $4000 in support of the Stennis Foundation that is committed to funding leukodystrophy research.
Judson was certainly remembered well by all who attended and pledged support in his honor that day!
I'm a BUD of JUD the STUD!
The HOT new clothing item for the Fall 2008 season is an "I'm a BUD of JUD the STUD!" shirt. Don't be surprised if you spot one of these walking memorials to Judson on some extremely fashionable folk; they're being sported by over 125 Buds of Jud.
Our little "stud" would have gotten such a kick out of seeing his face on a someone's tee! Thanks to all who supported the Stennis Foundation and Hunter's Hope by purchasing a Jud shirt!!
TeWinkle Park
Angels Charity is a local charity committed to improving the lives of children with special needs. While Judson was still alive, the MOMS Club of Costa Mesa - South partnered with Angels Charity to fund raise for our family (for which we are so grateful!).
Meanwhile, Angels Charity was working with the City of Costa Mesa to build a universally accessible playground for children with and without disabilities. The playground was recently completed, and due to support from the MOMS Club of Costa Mesa - South, Angels Charity chose to honor Judson by including his name in memoriam on one of the park signs.
What an honor! Thank you SO MUCH to both these organizations!!
Judson & Wilson Park
Our home sits directly on Wilson Park in Costa Mesa, CA. Judson would visit the park daily and sometimes twice a day before the onset of Krabbe disease. It became known to Jud as "our park." So in memory of Judson, with the assistance of the city of Costa Mesa Parks and Recreation Commision, we donated a tree and bench in Jud's honor. The bench is adjacent to the playground where Jud would swing, climb, slide, and run. The sapling sycamore tree is central to the park and visible through the windows of our home.
It is our hope that when people sit on Judson's bench they experience an extra measure of healing in their brokenness, rest in their weariness, and gratitude for all they have been given. We look forward to watching Jud's tree flourish and grow into a strong sycamore providing comfort in its shade.
Orange County Register
Since we did not do an obituary for Judson at the time of his death, we decided to do an In Memoriam Obituary in the Orange County Register on the anniversary of his diagnosis of Krabbe disease.
Meet Kaleb Tamirat
Kaleb is a little Ethiopian boy who is exactly the same age as Judson. He was born on Christmas Eve 2004. Kaleb lives with his mother and enjoys playing soccer.
We worked with Compassion International to specifically find a little boy, born the exact same day as Judson, to sponsor in Jud's memory. We look forward to watching Kaleb grow and flourish!
Seth Judah
Seth Judah was born January 7th, 2008.
When his parents, Joel and Jennifer, sent his birth announcement to family and friends, this is what they wrote about Seth's name:
Seth means "placed" or "appointed." Because Seth was originally a surprise to us, we believe he was uniquely appointed by God to our family in this time and place. In the book of Genesis, Seth was the third son of Adam and Eve.
Judah means "praise." We chose this name in honor of Jenn's mom, Judy Jansen, who has been a tremendous example and support to us in raising our boys.
Judah was also chosen in memory of Judson Levasheff, the son of our dear friends Drake and Christina. Jud was born on Christmas Eve 2004 and died November 7, 2007. Although we had no idea at the time, the day we shared with the Levasheffs that we were expecting this new little one was the last time Jenn and the boys would see Jud on this earth.
In the face of tremendous suffering during Jud's illness and in the wake of his loss, his parents have steadfastly honored our God. In naming our son, we praise God for their faithful example, and for their precious boy, whom we will never forget.
What an incredible honor for Judson and a blessing to us, his parents...thank you Perez family!

Patchwork
This quilt was made in memory of Judson.
A special thanks to Emily who fastidiously stitched together Jud's clothes to make a beautiful keepsake for us--a treasure of indescribable worth!
Firefighter
We received this picture on February 20, 2008:
With these words:
I am sending you a picture of my fire helmet with a certain little boy's name in it. I see this every time I put my helmet on. Judson is watching over me at all times. I put it on the day I found that he had passed on or moved on to a better place along side GOD.--M.A.
